This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. The man who walks with God and gets to his destination...
The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States , especially in the minority races!!!
Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video..
After the presentations, time was provided for
questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'
I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven Is that correct?'
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'
He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'
I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr.. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'
The Imam was speechless!
I continued, 'I also have problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.
Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the Diversification' training seminar were not happy with Rick's way of dealing with the
Islamic Imam , and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.
In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President! I think everyone in the U.S should be required to read this, but with
ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us send it on!
This is your chance to make a difference...

Great Stories
SIGHTING
We had to have the garage door repaired.. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a "large" enough motor on the opener I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, "Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower." I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, "NO, it's not." Four is larger than two..."
We haven't used Sears repair since.

My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter. She said, "you gave me too much money." I said, "Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back." She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so and he handed me back the quarter, then said "We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing." The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the clerks at McD's.

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: "Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore."
SIGHTING
My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco. She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce." He said he was sorry, but they only had iceburg lettuce.
SIGHTING
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?" To which I replied, "If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?" He smiled knowingly and nodded,
"That's why we ask."
Happened in Birmingham , Ala.
SIGHTING
The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red. Appalled, she responded, "What on earth are blind people doing driving?!"
She was a probation officer in Wichita , KS
SIGHTING
At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker. She was leaving the company due to "downsizing." Our manager commented cheerfully, "This is fun. We should do this more often." Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.
This was a lunch at Texas Instruments.
SIGHTING
When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician, "its open!"
His reply, "I know, I already got that side."
This was at the Ford dealership in Canton , Mississippi

Bread Tree
OK, today I had a reminder of child like innocence that most adults cant comprehend.
Sitting in a fast food restaurant my wife and I look toward our beautiful six year old daughter who is meticulously picking the sesame seeds off her sandwich bun.
My wife being more texture driven than taste in her culinary adventures asked her if she did not like the taste of the seeds. My daughter responded with, "No I like them."
Further prompting got my daughter to tell us that she was picking the seeds off so she could plant a bread tree in her garden at home.
I was moved by her inocense. Sometimes we adults look so hard into; words, people, and actions that we make things way more complicated than God intended them to be. We fail to see the simple design of things like seeds. If you plant seeds from an apple, you get apples. If you plant seeds of anger, you get angry. If you plant seeds from your sandwich bun, you get bread... OK Maybe not, but you get the point.
First look at things for face value, don't complicate things by over anylising it.

Proper Training
It's been nearly a Year since my last post, and wow how the world has changed...
Stories like this one may never occur again, because America has made some tragic mistakes...
Shotgun Preteen vs. Illegal Alien / Home Invasion: Butte, Montana November 5, 2007
Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
It seems the two crooks didn't know two things:
1-they were in Montana, and
2-Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house.
She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim.
He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen .45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery.
That victim, 50-year-old David O'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.
Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN , or ABC news
......an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself ......against two murderous, illegal immigrants ......and she wins, She is still alive.
Now that's Gun Control
Thought for the day:
Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'
America be leery of the path your heading down...

Are you a fan or a follower?
There seems to be this debate of whether there should be fans or followers of Jesus.
Fans tend to focus on cheers. Give me a J - give me an E.
Fans tend to focus on Big crowds. The excitement.
Fans tend to goto Big Events ... mountain top experiences ... but when there are valleys ... the fans are nowhere to be seen.
Fans love conferences, conventions, Mega, and Super Size.
Fans tend to love the idea of Jesus; but only when its convenient.
Followers are True lovers of Jesus. They are Disciples, Christians.
Followers love one another. Followers love their enemies. Followers do what Jesus said.
Sometimes I see our churches more full of fans than followers of Jesus. You see followers of Jesus takes time. It takes discipleship and isn't easily summed up into a formula, 4 laws, or a finger exercise.
Fans tend to do things quick ...say this prayer; do this act and you're done. Lots of shouting and confronting without the relationship.
I was asking God about it today and he took me to John 21 and the scene where Jesus is having a final conversation with Peter. He asks him to feed his sheep and follow him. And when Peter tries to change the subject to how John was doing, Jesus says, "What is that to you? You must follow me."
We're all tempted, as Peter was, to compare ourselves to others and Jesus' answer to us is always, "What is that to you? You must follow me."

Big Business
The GM bankruptcy, the killing of a soldier in Arkansas by a convert to Islam, and the President's trip to the Middle East, and why they ALL matter to Believers! Monday was a sad day in this nation as one of the greatest companies ever filed for bankruptcy. As sad as that event was, even sadder was the fact that the government which has already poured in $18 billion of your tax dollars to keep GM alive, and will commit at least another $30 billion while taking a 70% stake in the company.
This should be very troubling to everyone since the government now has tremendous control over the banking and financial industry, the insurance industry, the auto industry, and will soon take over the health-careindustry. Every day this nation looks more like China, Russia, Venezuela, and other countries where the government controls all aspects of daily life. Please don't be fooled, the GM situation amounts to little more than a government jobs program.
It was actually amusing watching President Obama claiming that he doesn't want to be in the car business. The reality is, the only way GM will only continue to exist is with more taxpayer dollars, and with the government, as the largest shareholder, they will be actively involved in all major decisions. Without government involvement, GM would have failed, the profitable parts would have been sold off just like they are selling their Hummer division to China, and many who lost their jobs would have eventually ended up with other auto makers.
What was appalling is that anyone who owned GM stock is holding worthless paper. The bond holders who owned the majority of the GM debt were forcedby the government to accept pennies on the dollar, losing virtually everything. Yet the UAW was taken care of in the new deal. Anyone who is foolish enough to invest a dime or buy one share of the new GM stock when it comes out needs to have their head examined.
What amazes me is that we have our President, Barack Hussein Obama, a man who has never run a business, even a lemonade stand, out there investing hundreds of billions of YOUR tax dollars in insurance companies, carcompanies, banks, and other businesses that were failing. We have a manwith ZERO business experience, who has never produced a DIME of revenue, investing in LOSING BUSINESSES that only exist today because of our taxdollars. On top of this, he appoints a 32-year-old political hack with ZERO business experience to oversee the GM deal.
During his trip to the Middle East, President Obama will speak at one of the world's pre-eminent Islamic Universities. I am certain there will be lots of Islamic symbolism at the school, just like there was lots of Christian symbolism at the Roman Catholic Georgetown University where he spoke a few weeks ago. Would anyone like to wager a Chicago hot dog that no Islamic symbols will be covered up, even though the President forced Georgetown to cover up all of the Christian symbols including the name of Jesus?
President Obama has clearly stated that this is no longer a Christian nation. He will make that case again this week in the Middle East, and even make the case that we are becoming a Muslim nation. There is an incredible move underway in this nation by the false religion of Islam. They are actively recruiting converts to their lies in the prisons, in the innercities, through the gang culture. Christians and all those who reject the lies of Islam are their targets and President Obama is helping to fosterthis climate.
By the way, I find it interesting that anyone who dared talk about President Obama's Muslim roots during the election was lambasted, and it was strictly forbidden to utter his LEGAL MIDDLE NAME of Hussein. However, on hiscurrent trip, he will now proudly talk about his Muslim heritage and insure that his middle name of Hussein is used.
Lastly, where was the media yesterday when this convert-to-Islam killed in cold blood one of our soldiers in Arkansas? The day before, they mourned the death of one of the most renown baby killers, George Tiller, blaming his death on "hate mongers" like myself who dare to call abortion what it is, murder, and those who support abortion what they are, murderers. They made the case that those in the pro-life movement were responsible for Tiller's murder.
Yet yesterday, a man who was born and raised in the United States, converted to Islam, went oversees and trained in Islamic terrorist camps, killed in cold blood a soldier outside a recruiting station in Arkansas. He told authorities that he was angry over the way the United States treated Muslims in Afghanistan. It was later learned that he had intended to kill other military personnel. The media couldn't wait to label the killer of Tiller as a domestic terrorist, yet they said virtually nothing about a REAL domestic terrorist!
Within hours of the killing of Tiller on Sunday, President Obama took advantage of the killing to hammer the pro-life movement. Attorney General Holder issued special orders to protect abortion clinics stating that there could be further acts of violence. After the killing of one of our soldiers by this convert to Islam, there was NO STATEMENT from President Obama, and silence from the Attorney General.
While there are political and business implications in these three separate issues, my only concern is the spiritual ramifications from each one. All three matter to Christians since the government has every plan and desire to control all aspects of daily life, including religion. The socializing of the corporate world is a huge stepin that direction. Trust me, they will not stop there. They are very committed to controlling religion as well.
For now, they don't care about what people do in their churches or about the Christian media, since both have virtually no impact on our culture. What they do care about are those who go into the marketplace and preach against the sins of the world. Satan is in control of our culture and he wants to silence anyone who will speak out against sin or try and bring the masses back to God and Biblical Truth. That is clearly the target of this administration. I love you and care about you so much. The answer? This is a battle for the soul of this nation. We now have a government that is not passively, but actively, working to destroy the Christian faith. The culture has rejected God's Truth. The fastest growing religion wants to see all Christians dead. Our ability to freely speak, make an impact for Christ, is going to get more difficult.
Now more than ever we must take our stand for Christ and challenge those who live in open rebellion to the Lord and His Word. The time is very short, Jesus is coming at any moment, God's wrath and judgment on this land has already begun, are you awake yet?

King Obama
The Obama administration is managing to undermine many decades of solid governing, in under 100 days.
Obama's latest attempt to destroy patriotism in our nation!

"Military to Pledge Oath To Obama, Not Constitution" Michele Chang Secretary of Defense.
Robert Gates, is extremely frustrated with orders that the White House is contemplating. According to sources at the Pentagon, including all branches of the armed forces, the Obama Administration may break with a centuries-old tradition. A spokesman for General James Cartwright, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, states that the Obama Administration wants to have soldiers and officers pledge a loyalty oath directly to the office of the President, and no longer to the Constitution. "The oath to the Constitution is as old as the document itself." the spokesman said, "At no time in American history, not even in the Civil War, did the oath change or the subject of the oath differ. It has always been to the Constitution." The back-and-forth between the White House and the Defense Department was expected as President George W. Bush left office. President Obama has already signed orders to close Guantanamo and to pull combat troops from Iraq. But, this, say many at the Defense Department, goes too far. Technically, we can't talk about it before it becomes official policy." the spokesman continued. "However, the Defense Department, including the Secretary, will not take this laying down. Expect a fight from the bureaucracy and the brass." Sources at the White House had a different point of view. In a circular distributed by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, the rationale for the change was made more clear. "The President feels that the military has been too indoctrinated by the old harbingers of hate: nationalism, racism, and classism. By removing an oath to the American society, the soldiers are less likely to commit atrocities like those at Abu Ghraib." "We expect a lot of flak over this," the classified memo continues. "But those that would be most against it are those looking either for attention or control." The time frame for the changes are unknown. However, it is more likely that the changes will be made around the July 4th holiday, in order to dampen any potential backlash. The difference in the oath will actually only be slight. The main differences will be the new phrasing. It is expected that the oath to the Constitution will be entirely phased out within two years.
WHAT'S NEXT...IS HE GOING TO ASK THE ALLEGIANCE OF ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS & SET HIMSELF UP AS KING TO BE WORSHIPPED???
I really hope this is not true. This is an absolute outrage !!! He is not a King regardless of what he may wish!!!By comparison, this could make "don't-ask-don't-tell" insignificant !!!

Proud to be White
Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point.
This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points...
Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... and that's OK.
But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink .. You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you.... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US. Yet if there were 'White colleges', that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud... But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists??
There is nothing improper about this blog. Let's see which of you are proud enough to agree. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves!
BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!
It's not a crime YET... but getting very close!

Heros
Below is an article written by Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated. He details his experiences when given the opportunity to fly in a F-14 Tomcat. If you aren't laughing out loud by the time you get to "Milk Duds," your sense of humor is seriously broken.
Someday you may be invited to fly in the back-seat of one of your country's most powerful fighter jets. Many of you already have. John Elway, John Stockton, Tiger Woods to name a few. If you get this opportunity, let me urge you, with the greatest sincerity... Move to Guam. Change your name. Fake your own death! Whatever you do Do Not Go!!! I know.
The U.S. Navy invited me to try it. I was thrilled. I was pumped. I was toast! I should've known when they told me my pilot would be Chip (Biff) King of Fighter Squadron 213 at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach.
Whatever you're thinking a Top Gun named Chip (Biff)King looks like, triple it. He's about six-foot, tan, ice-blue eyes, wavy surfer hair, finger-crippling handshake -- the kind of man who wrestles dyspeptic alligators in his leisure time. If you see this man, run the other way. Fast. Biff King was born to fly. His father, Jack King, was for years the voice of NASA missions. ("T-minus 15 seconds and counting..." Remember?) Chip would charge neighborhood kids a quarter each to hear his dad. Jack would wake up from naps surrounded by nine-year-olds waiting for him to say, "We have a liftoff" Biff was to fly me in an F-14D Tomcat, a ridiculously powerful $60 million weapon with nearly as much thrust as weight, not unlike Colin Montgomerie. I was worried about getting airsick, so the night before the flight I asked Biff if there was something I should eat the next morning. "Bananas," he said. "For the potassium?" I asked. "No," Biff said, "because they taste about the same coming up as they do going down."
The next morning, out on the tarmac, I had on my flight suit with my name sewn over the left breast. (No call sign – like Crash or Sticky or Leadfoot . But, still, very cool.) I carried my helmet in the crook of my arm, as Biff had instructed. If ever in my life I had a chance to nail Nicole Kidman, this was it.
A fighter pilot named Psycho gave me a safety briefing and then fastened me into my ejection seat, which, when employed, would "egress" me out of the plane at such a velocity that I would be immediately knocked unconscious. Just as I was thinking about aborting the flight, the canopy closed over me, and Biff gave the ground crew a thumbs-up. In minutes we were firing nose up at 600 mph. We leveled out and then canopy-rolled over another F-14.
Those 20 minutes were the rush of my life. Unfortunately, the ride lasted 80. It was like being on the roller coaster at Six Flags Over Hell. Only without rails. We did barrel rolls, snap rolls, loops, yanks and banks. We dived, rose and dived again, sometimes with a vertical velocity of 10,000 feet per minute. We chased another F-14, and it chased us.
We broke the speed of sound. Sea was sky and sky was sea. Flying at 200 feet we did 90-degree turns at 550 mph, creating a G force of 6.5, which is to say I felt as if 6.5 times my body weight was smashing against me, thereby approximating life as Mrs. Colin Montgomerie.
And I egressed the bananas. And I egressed the pizza from the night before. And the lunch before that. I egressed a box of Milk Duds from the sixth grade. I made Linda Blair look polite. Because of the G's, I was egressing stuff that never thought would be egressed. I went through not one airsick bag, but two.
Biff said I passed out. Twice! I was coated in sweat. At one point, as we were coming in upside down in a banked curve on a mock bombing target and the G's were flattening me like a tortilla and I was in and out of consciousness, I realized I was the first person in history to throw down.
I used to know 'cool'. Cool was Elway throwing a touchdown pass, or Norman making a five-iron bite. But now I really know 'cool'. Cool is guys like Biff, men with cast-iron stomachs and freon nerves. I wouldn't go up there again for Derek Jeter's black book, but I'm glad Biff does every day, and for less a year than a rookie reliever makes in a home stand. A week later, when the spins finally stopped, Biff called. He said he and the fighters had the perfect call sign for me. Said he'd send it on a patch for my flight suit. What is it? I asked. "TwoBags."

Conclusion
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Gal. 6:7). Those who fail or refuse to do good in the face of evil are sowing some dangerous seeds. They are doing nothing good as Jesus commanded them to do; they are helping evil to win and have ceased being good and have become partakers of the evil they did nothing to stop.
Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing. Stand up and be counted, speak up against evil and speak out against evil men and their sinful deeds.
These post were spawn from an incident I handeled at a local car wash. We bot a call of a Domestic Battery occurring. Upon my arrival another Officer was dealing with the suspect and victim. I began speaking with witnesses. The first witnesses was a small , clean cut, mid 30's male who spoke right up to the details of the incident. He added at the end of his statement thet he had to talk to other males out of getting involved. He proudly stated that as the woman was being slapped around by the suspect these other two men went to their trunks to get baseball bats and clubs to intevien, but he told them not to get involved.
I approached the other two males, one was a young hispanic man who spoke little english and the other was a teenage black man who looked like he had just stepped out of a rapp video. The two were not together but both had a conviction inside them that urged them to end this injustice. They may have thought I was going to reprimand them for there potential threat of violence but what they got out of my was a hand shake and a thank you for trying to be the hero. The first guy did not like my attitude toward my fellow warriors, but most cowards don't like me anyway.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

They Are No Longer Good
When good men do nothing, they are no longer good. Many have the mistaken notion that good is merely the absence of doing that which is wrong. Not so! One is good not merely because he does no evil, but because he is actively working for what is good. "Let him eschew evil, and do good" (1 Pet. 3:11). James explained, "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17).
The eldest of Israel, Reuben, knew his brothers' murderous plot against their younger brother Joseph was wrong. He started an attempt to deliver Joseph, but as he hesitated and vacillated, the other brothers sold Joseph into slavery. When Reuben heard what they had done, he realized his failure to act had helped to bring about this evil result.
Instead of correcting his error, Reuben sought to cover his guilt by agreeing with his brothers to lie to their father about Joseph's disappearance (Gen. 37:18-35). Reuben had "good intentions" and he was not even present when Joseph was sold into slavery, but he knew his inaction and absence made him just as guilty as the rest of his wicked brothers. This guilt continued to haunt him through the years (Gen. 42:21-22).
The prophet Obadiah severely condemned the Edomites for doing nothing when evil was befalling their brethren, the Jews. When Jerusalem was invaded by her enemies, the Edomites "stood on the other side" doing nothing but watching the slaughter as spectators. God said by their failure to act and to help their brethren "even thou wast as one of them" (Obad. 11).
Today, there are preachers and Christians who fail and refuse to meet the real foe, refute error and fight the enemy. Instead, they have turned to viciously savaging their own brethren. They are filled with bitterness and hatred and they maliciously attack, slander and misrepresent other Christians and gospel preachers.
Paul warned about such men and behavior among those professing to be Christians, "But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another" (Gal. 5:15). Those who engage in such behavior are spiritual cannibals.
While the conduct of these so-called Christians is shameful, what about those supposedly "good" men who do nothing? Those stand on the other side and do nothing but watch as their brothers are being slandered, slaughtered and devoured, they cease being innocent bystanders and idle spectators. Their failure to act not only allows evil to triumph, but makes them just as guilty as the spiritual cannibals they refuse to reprove and rebuke. In God's words, "even thou wast as one of them" (Obadiah 11).

They Help Evil To Triumph
When good men do nothing, evil triumphs. Evil, sin and sinful men must be opposed. God commands those who are good, not just to avoid evil but actively oppose it.
Christians are to not only to "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but (also) reprove them" (Eph. 5:11). Those who do nothing about sin and evil, help the sin and evil to prevail. One who is silent when there are those around him in sin becomes a partaker with them (Eph. 5:7).
In the days of Elijah, the silence of many had allowed the evil of Ahab and Jezebel to prevail throughout the land of Israel. "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word" (1 Kings 18:21). The silence of the people spoke volumes of their indecisiveness and inaction. Their failure to stand up, speak up and speak out permitted wicked and evil men to run rampant.
Jesus told of a traveler who was robbed, beaten and left him half dead. The men who did this were wicked and did a very wicked thing. But the Levite and priest allowed this evil to continue unanswered by doing nothing as they each "passed by on the other side" (Luke 10:31-32). Fortunately for the traveler there was one man, a Samaritan, who was willing to stand up for what was right (Luke 10:33-36).
Jesus warned "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad" (Matt. 12:30). In the fight against evil there is no middle ground, no gray area, no neutrality. Those who are not actively and vigorously fighting against evil are helping evil to triumph.

They Get Nothing Good Done
Time and again those who profess to be good seem to clearly outnumber those who are evil, yet those who are evil seem to prevail far too often. Seldom is it the numbers that determine the outcome, but whether those who claim to be good men are willing to stand up and fight for what they know to be right. There are numerous examples of this sad and awful scenario being played out over and over again in the scriptures.
When good men do nothing, they get nothing good done. To be good, one must do good. The Lord commands his people to do good (Luke 6:35; Eph. 2:10). Christ "gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:14).
In the parable of the talents, Jesus described a man who did nothing. When he received his Lord's money, he "went and digged in the earth, and hid his Lord's money" (Matt. 25:18). When his Lord returned, he returned to the Lord just what he had been given (Matt. 25:25). Notice, the servant did not do any outright evil, such as stealing the money, but then neither did he do anything good. He did nothing and he got nothing good accomplished. Jesus said he was a "wicked and slothful servant" (Matt. 25:26).
Jesus rebuked the church at Laodicea for doing nothing. "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" (Rev. 3:15-17).
Too many Christians and too many churches do nothing. They are standing idly by, they are mere spectators. They sit on the sidelines instead of actively participating and working for the good. If good wins, they join in the celebration though they did nothing to produce the victory. If evil wins, they will complain long and loud though their own apathy helped produce the undesirable result.
When Jesus found a fig tree with "nothing thereon, but leaves only" He cursed the tree and "presently the fig tree withered away" (Matt. 21:19). What will He do with those who claim to be good and yet who do nothing? John the baptist warned, "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire" (Matt. 3:10; John 15:2).

God won't give you any more than you can handle?
There is a debate in my life about this common phrase:
“God won’t give you any more than you can handle.” The questions are, is that a Bible verse? Is that true?
I think the thought comes from 1 Corinthians 10:13, but there, the Bible is specifically talking about temptation.
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it (1 Cor. 10:13 NASB).
Remember to understand a verse in context you have to read the verses before it and after it.
If you read the verses that surround this text there is no doubt that it is about the temptation to fall into sin like Israel did. I will underline some key portions to confirm this:
1 Corinthians 10:6-12
6 Now these things happened as examples for us, that we should not crave evil things, as they also craved.
7 And do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play."
8 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
9 Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents.
10 Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. NASB
1 Corinthians 10:14
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. NASB
The promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 is not about God not giving us more than we can handle it is about God not allowing temptation to overwhelm us without Him providing a way of escape so that we can endure the temptation and not fall into sin (like Israel did).
I think this is very critical to understand because many people may feel that when life gives them more than they can (honestly) handle they may conclude that God has let them down. They may even repeat this phrase “God won’t give you (or me) any more than you (I) can handle.” But I do not believe that God has promised this. I think that this is one of those phrases muck like “God helps them who help themselves” that people repeat so often that they assume it is in the Bible but it actually is not!
So what does the Bible say about this subject? Where is God and how does He help us when life throws these curve balls at us and one thing gets stacked on top of another thing and on top of another until we feel that we are under the crushing weight of pressure, anxiety and stress? Well, if you are like most people we will have to honestly say that this phrase comes out of our mouth more often than we’d like to admit: “I can’t handle this!!” (Can you relate?!)
It might be that the kids have frazzled your last remaining nerve, it might be a co-worker, friend or acquaintance who has betrayed you or seriously gotten under your skin, it might be 91 Freeway traffic! It could also be that a close relationship is terribly strained or that a dearly beloved friend or family member is gravely ill or has died. I am sure you can make your own list here and add numerous other situations, people and scenarios that zap our own strength.
In times like these are we to cling to the phrase “God won’t give you any more than you can handle”, tighten our shoelaces, take a deep breath and push forward despite how we really feel? And when we are poured out and at the end of the last ounce of strength we have should we conclude that either God has let us down and not kept His Word or we are just too weak, or both? No, I think there is another answer - A Biblical answer.
In 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 Paul wrote (I will under line some key phrases):
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life;
9 indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves in order that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
10 who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,
May I be so bold as to say that I think God allows us to be in situations where we can’t handle it and when it is beyond our strength so that we might depend on Him more! Notice that Paul said that this affliction that came to them in Asia “burdened (them) excessively” and was “beyond our strength.”
The NIV puts it this way: “We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life” (2 Cor. 1:8B NIV).
And he concludes that this was…“in order that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God…” (v. 9)
It appears that God will give us more than we can handle so that we will give Him the handle to steer our lives!
The point is that the key to the Christian life is not trying to be strong in ourselves, but rather letting God’s power and strength fill and empower us through the inevitable difficulties of life and even Gospel ministry.
What we can be assured of is that when we go through these difficult trials God will be with us (He will also use those trials to develop perseverance and proven character, see Rom. 5:3-4, 15:5 James 1:2-4) and He will use our experiences of His strength showing up in our storm to comfort others who are going through similar stuff. And we can say to them from experience ‘you will make it through.’
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. NASB
Paul wrote later in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:
9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. NASB
