Rookies!!!!!!

This one will send you for a loop...

I have often said, "The only difference between cops and criminals is the side they choose to play for!" My theory was proven again last night!

In roll call I am informed; At a local bar around one am three out of state off duty police officers are getting hammered. They are loud and obnoxious causing a scene in the bar, they are in their mid twenty's. The loudest of the group heads out to the parking lot, where there is a local rookie cop and his civilian friend smoking a cigarette. An argument in sues between the civilian and the out of state off duty cop when the drunken out of state off duty cop pulls out a gun and shoots the civilian in the chest. The local rookie runs up with no weapon and states that he is an off duty police officer and there was no need to shoot his friend. A second drunken out of state officer comes out of the bar and draws his weapon and they tell the local rookie cop to go back inside before he gets shot as well.

This is where it gets bad... as if!

An on duty police officer responds to the report of a shooting in his squad car and draws his weapon on the second drunken out of state off duty officer and orders him three times to drop the weapon. He does not comply and the on duty uniformed officer shoots the out of state drunken cop in the face twice.

At no point did the three out of state drunken fools identify themselves as cops. The local rookie is found to be completely sober, and the out of state cops can barely walk themselves to the squad cars as they were taken into custody.

The news reports something completely different...

Three off duty police officers were attacked by a civilian and shot him and when uniformed officers arrived on scene they shot the one of the off duty officers for no reason.

The media is out of control and the three drunken out of state off duty cops had less than a year on themselves. I should have titled this murders and liars...

Wow I suck at Blogging!

To my one follower out there, It's 4 in the morning and I can't sleep... Lorna (my wife) is wondering why I took that nap yesterday.

I woke up around 1:30am and started reading my Bible, then asked God why he and heart burn had me up, then went to work on my future dream of owning a restraunt plan, then caught up on e-mails, and that lead me to my unattended Blog.

Its 4:00am now, God is done talking to me but the heart burn is going strong.

I have tickets to the Blues Hockey Game tonight, and have a crap load of Junk to accomplish today. To bad everything isn't 24 hour, I could go do it now.

24 hour, The only two places I know that have 24 hour everything are San Diego and Las Vegas. In Vegas you can go to the bank to get a car loan at 3:30am and be driving off the lot in yout new car by 4:45am. It is truley a city that never sleeps.

Sleep... That sounds good! Prilosec and I are going back to bed!

Olympics

I am no athlete by any means, but I love the olympics. I was born in October of 1972 when the olympics was occurring in Greece. The original olympic town. Its a far stretch but I feel a connection to the olympics.

The idea of young people having a life experience like completing on a global scale and representing their country is an emotional experience for me.

The joy, pride, and excitement the parents must feel just being there watching their kids succeed is probably a lot like what God feels like when he watches us do his will here on earth, and what sorrow he must feel when we don't finish the race.

I pray we give 100% to living our life to make a difference, as the athletes give the example of giving their all.

Go team USA!!!!!!!!!

Different Drum

Even though the world doesn’t know each other, we walk in the same direction.

Like those lemmings that march off a cliff into the ocean for no apparent reason and no objection.

You know that direction, I call it the direction of “me”! My goals, my stuff, how do I get first place, and could somebody up there cut me a break so I can win the lottery.

Then all of a sudden somebody shows up who’s totally set apart from the rest. Well he’s heading in the other direction for one and there’s a peace in His eyes and a rhythm to His step.

It’s as if he has found the answer to life, and come to find out the answer’s not me, myself or I.

I think I’m sticking with that guy...

As if I haven't said enough, there’s something else that’s bugging me How can I have just one heart that beats for so many things at the same time continually? It just doesn’t make since. I mean technically I’ve only got one heartbeat in there But I dance with so many things, do so many jigs you’d think I was Fred Astaire!

I’m no rocket scientist, but it seems that every time you give a piece of your heart away It can not be healthy…

Nor can it be as strong as well let’s say, When the whole heart is beating as one, for one thing, one rhythm in unison.

Now that my friend is good advice for anyone !

God let my heart beat as one with you...

Weekend Road Trip

Well, no photo's because there was no road trip. The camper broke on the first attempt at putting it up. We called the previous owner and he ordered the replacement parts and told me how to fix it.

That didn't work, I broke the new pieces after I attempted to put it up all three times. All new pieces were destroyed and the previous owner called to see how my repairs went. Lorna told him how poorley I did, and he asked her to bring it back so he could repair it. He is a great guy.

Not all is bad, well maybe it is, the van needs some repairs as well, but that is another story.

Checking out for the week

I could not have picked a better week to work 16 hour days. My wife decided that she would like to by a mini van to pull the new camper so she began shopping and even purchased a pretty cool van. It is the same thing I would have picked if I were around to help, the only problem was I was unavailable from 7 am to 11pm or later each night. Then she began the process of changing the titles over, and ever wall she could have run into she did. One DMV employee even told her to take the keys back and get her money because there was no way to fix the mistakes on the title.
It seems that things don't go crazy for me but she says they go haywire when I'm not around to help problem solve. Well she got it all done and even set up everything for a weekend road trip. I have a great wife who can handle anything... What a great gal!

Crash and Burn

I mentioned we got a camper, well a great friend of mine and I decided to set it up in the back yard for my wife and daughter to start prepping it for a weekend trip. We got it all level and the wheels chalked when I began cranking the handle for the unveiling. I wasn't two turns in when the lift system broke and all the pieces of chain and cogs fell out the bottom.

Instantly I was frustrated and my good friend smiled and said don't worry about it, we can fix it. I think we all need a good friend once in a while to pick up our countenance. This was just the first step in God letting me know I wasn't a complete idiot and that I had not made an unwise purchase.

Next I called the previous owner to ask if he had any ideas where I could get parts and he was completely apologetic and told me that he would call me back. I thought he might blow me off until I received a call from a parts guy who wanted to ship me the parts. The parts guy said we will ship you these parts and "Rod" (the guy we bought it from) wants to know when you get them so he can come install them for you.

Rod and his wife Bunny turned out to be amazing people as well. They live in Wentsville so I won't be contacting him to put it in but it is nice to know that God puts people in our lives to remind us that he loves us.

Camping

I am so excited, my wife and I just purchased our very first pop up camper. I hope she loves it, I love being outdoors and in the wilderness. I could live in the woods with no shelter, but my tender flower needs something more comfortable so we are going to try our hand at pop up camping. We (the boys and I) will sacrifice the four wheelers for Mom's comfort. I will blog about our adventures throughout the summer.

Whats with the title?

OK! I found my way back to the blog site so here we go...

Some would ask why the title "Murderers and Thieves". It goes like this, many times in life we compare our mistakes to others and think well I'm not as bad as them... If the truth be told the Bible clearly states that any sin separates us from the grace of God. That means that the sin we keep hidden in our hearts, is just as bad as the sin others leave out in the open for the world to see.

On Sunday morning Pastor Bob talked a little about the two thieves who were crucified with Jesus on the cross. One of them hurled insults at Jesus and the other rebuked him saying that he was the son of God and he was Innocent of all charges. This speaks volumes to me. It makes me realize that in Jesus' crucifixion he shed his blood to forgive all sin, whether it be your small white lies, or a murderers rampage. He died for all of us, everyone of the murderers and thieves.

All in a days work.

This is my first post! As many things run through my head, I can't decide what to start with. My reluctance to get started is only fueled by the fact that I have no idea what I am doing. This blogging idea seems to be a great way to communicate, not necessarily with others but it beats talking to myself.

This will be my test post. If it works, I will continue. If it doesn't, I will spend the next month trying to figure out how to get back to my blog.
